62 year old cartoons today.

By Bill Mauldin, during World War II he portrayed the dangers of war through the eyes of "Willie and Joe"

‘Our President Is Dead’: How The Washington Post reacted to John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

2010, 77 year-old Teddy is welcomed aboard a sailboat by his three older brothers - none of whom experienced the gift of long life. Jack was 46, Bobby 42, and Joe Jr. only 29 years old when their lives ended abruptly and violently.

Was in the 5th grade when the Principal wheeled a TV in telling our teacher turn it on any channel,
and she was out the door to deliver more TVs. All we did the rest of the day.

I imagine, as Ted stepped onto the boat, he suddenly became young again.

Kind of the reverse of Burt Lancaster's character in "Field of Dreams" (Moonlight Graham) becoming old as he stepped off the field.

Yeah, I can be a sap.

My reading group had permission to go to the school library alone as long as we stayed in line and didn't talk in the halls. Turns out that Coach, the gym teacher, had a free period and turned on the radio in his office so that was how he was the first to hear. He ran out to the closest classroom and told that 6th grade teacher who ran straight to the library to tell the librarian and so that's how we kids heard. So we forgot our instructions and ran straight to our classroom at the far end of the hall to tell our teacher who ran out to find out more.

I still remember sitting in the gym waiting for the buses, all of us were scared. Turns out that my mother had already heard from her sobbing neighbor. And I saw Lee Harvey Oswald shot live on TV. I went and told my mother what I'd just seen and she grabbed the kitchen counter saying she couldn't take any more...

But I recognize all three toons. My old school friends and I have been emailing our remembrances of November 22, 1963 to one another for the last few days; impossible to escape the impact of such a tragedy, especially if you were young at the time.
