(9,608 posts)1. Genius... and obvious.
The reason that this seems to brilliant is that we have been programmed to not mess with the state religion, i.e.: unfettered capitalism.
Now that we have decided to 'blaspheme', it is my hope that we do so in a way that truly starts removing the hold that this insane 'religion' has on us all, even when we want to think it doesn't.
It is a hopeless 'hope', but whatever...

I thought Marcus Aurelius said this, but it was Virgil. "Una salus victis nullam sperare salutem"

Im still not sure what happened to my sweet little boy but it happened over the July 4th weekend. I was so stressed out I got a case of shingles. Not fun!
Still traumatized and this skinning of cats has triggered that pain and trauma I experienced over several months.

I have used that phrase when I was younger but after becoming a lover of cats I quit using it. I do find it interesting that cats are only referred to this way.
Is there only one way to skin other animals?
This past year and a half weve lost 4 of our kitty family.
Long story about a couple of them which I wont bore you with. But its an interesting one. Several of our babies were named after an animation series Inuyasha. And yes we did have a Inuyasha a grey and white tabby. He loved getting his picture taken. Hes no longer with us.
Kikyō was a Russian Blue and died sudden and unexpected. She loved sharing her heartbeat with mine. She asked to live with us and even abandoned her bio mom for us, she was a tiny kitten and not even weaned yet. We welcomed her into the fold. We had already rescued her 2 other siblings (Hohaku and Kagome) after a severe rainstorm the night before.
Sango was a tan tabby and our oldest and Inuyashas sister. She became saddened by Kikyos death and got sick. We thought she was going to leave us as well. But we tampered her for over a year. Her passing was traumatic but we knew it was inevitable.
Miniyasha grey and white tabby was an outdoor baby. He was loyal and a tremendous cat. We built them special shelves at our kitchen window. He was always ready for a meal, or sometimes just to watch me cook, and eating moths. His death hit us hard. The fireworks scared him. I spare the details of his demise it was gruesome and made me feel so bad for him. He didnt deserve to die like that.
And then little Harmony. She was a tuxedo girl and never got very big. She kinda got picked on by our other girls. We tried to limit confrontations but it could be difficult. Kikyo and Sango took her under their guidance. She loved them and became extremely depressed by their passing. Her passing was traumatic, I was glad I was there for her.
Ive cared for many cats and will continue to do so but will be slowing down since I wouldnt want to leave this life without having them cared for.
One last story. This one is about our outdoor solid orange tabby BabyBaby I only called him BabyBaby because I didnt want to get attached to him. So, went to feed the outdoor babies and BB didnt show up. Went looking for him and found him with his head stuck in a chain linked fence. Still a mystery how he accomplished this feat. Hubs had to get wire cutters ala jaws of life to free him. Then within the week he wasnt around for morning feeding. He came back and was ready to feed him when I noticed he had blood around his mouth and upon closer examination his whole bottom lip was hanging off his face. We had to have it sewn back on and we didnt have the money to spend but we couldnt leave him like that. While recuperating we got him scheduled to be fixed. Brought in a log for him to scratch and he then became known as Timba. Miniyasha and Timba were close friends.
I have so many memories of the furbabies we cared for throughout my journey on this planet.
Thank you again Swede, I truly appreciate it 🕯️🌹❤️🙏
