Follow up: For my daughter, I was gracious. Politics was not discussed. I offered it up to karma. Lol.

If they don't behave as well, they get one warning, "We don't talk politics," & if they bring it up again, then all bets are off. Sorry hosts, but fascists & pedo-enablers who won't shut up need to be shamed, & if it's at your dinner table, so be it.

And - the 'host' has failed in providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
But, that's kind of their job ....
Entertaining combative personalities - means that fewer and fewer people will be attending your get togethers.
