Trump set to propose framework to fix Obamacare subsidies

The president's health-care legislation would seek to terminate what one of the White House officials referred to as 'surprise premium hikes' generated by the ACA.

President Donald Trump is expected to announce, as early as Monday, a general framework to address health care costs, calling on Congress to send a bill to his desk that would halt Affordable Care Act premium spikes, according to two White House officials familiar with the plans.

The announcement is expected to occur at the White House, and is slated to feature remarks from Trump and Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, according to both officials.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., and House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., were expected to be briefed on the plan Sunday afternoon, one of the White House officials said.

1. I got an email from Rick Scott today

saying that he was going to propose something to fix the Affordable Care Act.

Well, who better to propose a new plan to fix health care in the US than someone who made more than practically anyone else off of US health care.

It's just a shame that Jesse James isn't alive to oversee our banking system.

5. Rick Scott should STILL be in jail for Medicare fraud.

AI Overview
The "Rick Scott Medicare fraud case" refers to the large-scale Medicare fraud settlement involving his former company, Columbia/HCA Healthcare, which paid a then-record $1.7 billion in fines and settlements in 2001. While Scott was the CEO, *no senior executives were criminally charged. The company pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit Medicare fraud, and the settlement addressed issues such as illegally billing for services and paying kickbacks to doctors.

*Wonder how that happened?????

I think that I have a better chance to see my hope realized than anyone who thinks that the Republican plan will help.

12. So, you are a preemptive "No," and screw those who will see huge premium increases in a month?

I’m for seeing what they come up with and how it might be modified before saying, “No,” when we really don’t have many cards to save the people who need it in a month. Hope our delegation has more sense.

6. Don't either. However, they are talking about it and are talking new money. That's better than the earlier "Hell No."

They'll do something to get through midterms. Hope we make healthcare reform a big deal next year, not just criticizing trump/GOPers, but real reform.

7. Here we go again. It's "concept of a plan" time.

It should be ready in 2 weeks, or maybe in 2 years, or maybe in 2 decades, or maybe in 2 centuries.
The republicans have got it all under control.

Typical Trump. Can't just continue as is for a year to figure it out. All or nothing and in his case it's usually nothing.
