Trump refused to send disaster aid to Chicago after 2 devastating storms.
Trump’s denials are the first time any president since at least 2007 — including Trump to this point — has refused to help residents recover from such extensive damage to their homes, federal records show.
Trump denied both aid requests from Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker on Oct. 22, two weeks after saying Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson — both Democrats — “should be in jail” for “failing to protect” federal immigration enforcement officers.
Trump has traded barbs with Illinois officials for months. The president has called Chicago a “hellhole,” drawn protests over immigration raids in the city and tried to dispatch National Guard troops to the state. Pritzker has sued to block the dispatch by Trump — dubbing him a “wannabe dictator.” Johnson has called Trump “a monster.”

I'm no constitutional scholar, but this seems like a blatant violation of the implicit agreement the original 13 states made when they ratified the Constitution: that in return for surrendering some of their autonomy they would receive certain benefits. Now, none of the states can count on any of those benefits, because there's a narcissistic despot in charge who doesn't understand or care about any of that. It's not just a matter of red states vs. blue states; who gets what is subject to his personal whims at any given moment.
We should never lose sight of the fact that, in his own mind, Schlump is the center of the universe. His needs or desires are the ONLY things that matter, and in his mind, no one, not even a federal judge, has the right to even disagree with him about anything, much less order him not to do something he wants to do. That's why he blows up at reporters who ask him unpleasant questions; it's an outrage to him that anyone would dare to do so. It's also why any attempt to hold him accountable, whether it be an impeachment, criminal charges, or losing an election, is dismissed as a hoax or a witch hunt.
As his dementia progresses, he's getting worse and worse, because he's losing his inhibitions more and more each day. He's rapidly approaching permanent "you can dress him up but you can't take him anywhere" territory, and because the effects of dementia fluctuate so much at this stage, he's already there a lot of the time.
Someday, books will be written about how the nation was held in thrall by this mentally incompetent fool, and historians will ask each other, "Why on earth didn't somebody DO something?" Those of us who are still alive by then can say, "Yes, that really DID happen! I know because I lived through it!" When younger folks say, "But why? HOW? We don't understand," those of us who are still around will say, "We don't understand, either!"
