CT-GOV: UNH poll shows strong approval ratings for Gov. Ned Lamont in 2026 election

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — New opinion polling from the University of New Hampshire shows that Gov. Ned Lamont has a strong approval rating heading into the 2026 election.

The next gubernatorial election is now less than a year away, and Lamont has a net 17-point approval rating, with 55% giving him positive marks, 38% disapproving and another 7% with no opinion.

“A fifty five percent approval rating is obviously really solid,” political strategist Roy Occhiogrosso said. “He’s obviously one of the most popular governors in the country. So, good place to start.”

Occhiogrosso is a former campaign strategist for former Gov. Dan Malloy. Occhiogrosso helped Malloy defeat Lamont back in the 2010 Democratic primary.
