Tears flowed in S.F. courtroom as immigration judge was fired mid-hearing

Shuting Chen was conducting an asylum hearing for a family of three Venezuelan siblings, listening to testimony about how they had fled persecution in their home country, when an email popped up on one of her computer screens. The subject line read "Notice of Termination."

She felt like all the air had been sucked out of her lungs, she told the Chronicle.

I get that Republicans have different platforms. Why not? Some countries have dozens of political parties. It's the sheer stupidity and willful ignorance that gets me. People voted for having their own social security taken away, their Medicare, their food stamps. Now their families are getting deported, their kids will be getting sick because no vaccines. They won't be able to get an education so they can get a job above ditch digger or cemetery groundskeeper, or do you want fries with that.

And somehow, it's all our fault. But it's not that hard to see that you should vote for people who actually help you, not lie and then take stuff away from you.

stranger from a subcontracted HR company. She couldn't/wouldn't give me a reason other than business practices. I had patients I was seeing that day. Next day I was gone along with 50 or so others based elsewhere.
