Boston Globe (Archived)The young woman, Any Lucia Lopez Belloza, came to the United States from Honduras with her family when she was a young child and was at Logan Thursday to catch a flight to Texas, where her parents live, according to her attorney, Todd Pomerleau.
Lopez Belloza made it through security but was stopped as she was about to board the plane, Pomerleau said. They wouldnt tell her why she was being detained. She didnt understand it at all, Pomerleau said. She was then taken to the Burlington ICE field office, then flown to Texas, Pomerleau said.
The Department of Homeland Security and Babson College did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
After a frantic 48-hour search, her family received a call from her on Saturday from Honduras, a country she had not lived in since she was a child. The federal government had quickly deported her, the lawyers said, and Lopez Belloza had found her way to her grandparents house and called her father.
There is talk going around that DHS is now arresting people who fly *domestically* if they have final orders of removal.

Undocumented youth should consider consulting a lawyer to find out what their record is -- especially those whose parents had prior interactions with immigration.

(53,255 posts)[Her family] didnt know to show up somewhere, and she certainly had no idea of any of this, Gupta said, explaining that immigration courts can issue such orders without the subject being present and that notifications are all too frequently mailed to incorrect addresses.
People with final orders of removal, like this young college freshman from Babson College, are highly vulnerable under an administration that is pursuing such a cruel and indiscriminate deportation agenda, she added, alluding to President Donald Trumps second term crackdown on illegal immigration.
According to court documents ABC News, a federal judge had ordered the government not to remove Lopez Belloza from the U.S. and not to transfer her outside of Massachusetts, instructions that appear to have been ignored. She was in a court process that she thought ended favorably, she was then nine or 10-years-old, Pomerleau told 7 News Boston. Shes a child under the immigration law. Shes under the age of 21. Shes going to college. She has zero record.
We believe her constitutional rights were violated, the way she was arrested, not having any notice why shes arrested, not shown any documents to justify her abrupt, egregious removal from the United States of America. Youre supposed to be thankful this time of the year. Just be thankful ICE hasnt destroyed your family.
