Of course everyone knows that Heart has always been LZ's greatest fans. It doesn't surprise me that they would be the ones to perform.

Ann Wilson has one of the best voices around. I loved the look on Jimmy Paige's face.

I saw Led Zeppelin at their very first United States concert in Denver in December 1968. They were the warm-up band for Spirit and Vanilla Fudge, who were the groups we were anticipating seeing. None of us had ever heard of Led Zeppelin since their first album wasn't out yet, so we were expecting just your average warm-up band. As was our wont in those days, we had just dropped some acid, coming on as we entered the concert. As soon as we heard the first few bars from LZ, we knew we were witnessing history. They played all the songs off that first album, and everyone in that place was mesmerized. As they say, "the crowd went wild." I've never experienced anything like that before or since.

I love their music, and I'm glad they received this honor.

I just found the whole LZ segment with Jack Black doing the intro (he shows some old footage of them), Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz etc.

Mister Guy was a trailblazer for Heart, Zep and many other rock and roll acts. He should have had the highest honor.

Just AWESOME!

(Jimmy Page on Letterman said he was really impressed, and surprised with the chorus in the background.)

When it was broadcast and this performance definitely deserved its position as the final crescendo for the show.

As an aside..Obama picked so many cool performers to honor.
