It's no surprise it has unleashed the worst impulses in our (un-) civilized culture. When the Babel-Bubble bursts, it will take us all down.
Humanity is long overdue for a re-boot. Hopefully the survivors will take a lesson and not follow the footsteps back down the trail to our current madness.
