My post on facebook...what do you think?

It seems all arguments are now had by posting stupid pictures and various memes. Has actual discussion and thought been completely removed? I'm afraid to post my opinion on various matters for fear that I'll be bombarded with pictures/memes. Gun Control, Fiscal Cliff, Politics, Religion, and pretty much everything has now been boiled down to simple visual bites so people don't have to think critically anymore. Even more so if it's somehow clever or sticks it to the other side. Making a funny/witty comment does not make you right. Having an opinion is not wrong, but mimicking the thoughts of others with no critical thought from yourself is shameful. You're not limited by the quantity of your writing, so why limit the quality of it? @Everyone who posts pictures to justify their opinion on something.

... of which I am, obviously, one because I use facebook a lot! Many people's ultimate goal there is to get likes and comment, not foster intelligent conversation and debate. Pictures and memes accomplish that goal.
