President Donald Trump’s high-energy delivery of fabricated numbers drew laughter and applause from social media users Wednesday night.

“This isn’t a speech, this is a primal scream of panic,” said Atlantic writer Tom Nichols, referring to Trump’s fast-talking “infomercial-style” delivery of bogus data and bragging.

“Two minutes in and we’ve already hit 11 on the bonkers scale,” Nichols continued, adding: “I’m very glad that all the networks are carrying this, people need to know their president is a raving narcissist.”

Another Democratic strategist, Simon Rosenberg, posted on Bluesky that “Trump is so clearly insane. It’s a national emergency,” after earlier posting that Trump was “Lying. It’s all lies.”

Former Chicago Tribune Editor Mark Jacob, meanwhile, dismantled Trump’s fast-paced delivery of numbers, saying on Bluesky that “it’s a rhetorical mistake for Trump to throw so many numbers at people. It’s encouraging to see him screw up that way.”

Generally avoid watching Trump speak, but I listened to a replay of this speech just to see what all the fuss was about. After a couple of minutes I found myself fast-forwarding a lot, the increasing sense of disgust and loathing was too much.

He goes from reading a grocery list of Biden's administration's imaginary faults to shouting about the things he did to our country but blames others for. He ends by yelling out his gas lighting technique and telling us prices are down, inflation has stopped, and we all have high paying jobs.

I wish I had brought booze to drink every time he blames someone else for what he did. Then he ends up wishing us all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and God bless America with the nastiest scowl on his face. He cold have just been swearing at us for all the meanness in his face. Like a kid told to do something they don't want to do. His words said one thing his face said "if I could kill you all, without killing myself too, I would."

Then that middle part where he claims he's going to give every service member a $1000. (That should buy a couple pounds of meat.) That money ain't going nowhere except into pedo Trump's pockets.

The speech was remarkable for its gattling gun delivery and with very few deviations from the teleprompter. This was so unlike his other recent speeches which showed disordered thinking. It was an extraordinary accomplishment for someone with such a failing brain. He had to have had some “help.”
