Deportation Flights
I work at a flight school. Every morning I go out on the ramp to pray and to catch the sun rise over the mountains across the runways. It is beautiful and it is peaceful.
This morning as I looked across the ramp, I saw an all white (no logo) 737 taxiing for departure. It was a “ghost plane” deportation flight. My heart sank and my eyes filled with tears.
I’ve known for years that deportation flights operate from the airport where I work, but I’d purposely NOT ever tracked the airplanes or even listened to ATC (other than what I needed to do my job) to avoid encountering them.
I love my flight school job, but I fucking hate ICE’s presence at the airport.
