Days Before He Died by Suicide, Jeffrey Epstein Gave Specific Reason for Why He Would Never Take His Own Life

Days before Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in 2019, the sex offender claimed he would never take his own life because, he said, suicide is forbidden in his Jewish faith.

In the Department of Justice’s latest release of files related to its Epstein investigation, prison notes from his time at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City — where he was held while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges — offer a closer look at his mental state.

The notes mentioned a possible suicide attempt on July 23, 2019. According to the notes, Epstein told an interviewers that "he could not remember what happened" on the day in question "because of his " 'sleep apnea.'"

During a psychological observation from July 26, 2019, it was written that Epstein "does not like pain and never attempt (sic) to harm himself."

Some people who go on to commit suicide will make efforts to hide what they are about to do to make sure they get to go through with it. Obviously others display signs they are going, but the path isn't the same for everyone.

I don't know whether Epstein killed himself or not, but I can certainly imagine that somebody like Epstein might find suicide preferable to spending the rest of his life in prison.

I think it's very possible he bribed guards to let him get away with it.

Not liking pain is not a reason not to suixi3e. Many people suicide in order to STOP the mental and emotional pain they haven't been able to deal with any other way.

The ones who will never suicide are the ones who wouldn't dream of depriving the rest of the world of their wonderful presence.

As in, seconds away from pulling the trigger. He was in a very dark place due to a health condition, which ultimately did kill him. My family is very, very religious. So while he did have a moment of clarity and stop, highly religious people commit suicide, too.

I suspect the only thing that stopped him was the thought of what it would do to my Mom. Losing him was awful enough and she'll always bear that wound, as will I. Losing him to suicide would have been infinitely, horrifically worse. I'm very thankful he didn't go through with it.

One of the fat cat perpetrators probably greased the palm of a guard to suddenly "go on break" and then someone strung up Epstein.

Whatever not remembering because he kept waking up because of breathing difficulties has to do with it.

You know, if you're contemplating suicide or at least have it as an open question and aren't quietly trying to find a way out, the last thing you do is tell a psychologist when you're in jail, "You know, doc, I'm thinking of suicide. Even tried it once." Because the next thing you know, not only are you subject to unlimited counseling but you're also deprived of anything that might actually let you do what you've kept open as a possibility.

In other words it's largely a meaningless answer--you'd expect the same reaction if the claim were true or if the claim were false. "Are you thinking of suicide" will, from anybody seriously pondering the act, get the response, "No!"

And that's not considering that Epstein was an unreliable narrator of his own story.
