Sarah started doing focus groups in 2018 and 2019 hoping to save the Republican Party from Trump—by finding a primary challenger who wouldn’t embarrass themselves. He wants to go out on top and never be eclipsed by a future successor. He doesn’t care about the future once he is out of the picture. I’ll be interested to see who inherits his money when he’s gone.
