(40,989 posts)severely damaging its reputation for trustworthiness internationally. Trump did this DELIBERATELY, so that his successor would have a very messy situation on his hands. Also forced the release 5,000 Taliban in captivity in an agreement between US and Taliban (w/out Afghan gov't inclusion!) , who rejoined the fight against the Afghan gov't and led to its eventual defeat.

(11,576 posts)It was wonderful to have a full four years when one was able to wake up in the morning without wondering what holy hell had been released overnight. That all went bye-bye again on January 21, 2025.
