How would we react if a foreign country kidnapped Trump?

Would we be happy that he was gone or outraged that a foreign military force abducted our president? Let's say Trump actually did invade Greenland to attempt to seize it for the US. Denmark invokes NATO Article 5 and a coalition of NATO countries manages to do what the US did wrt Maduro in Venezuela? What would we do?

Half the country would be celebrating, half the country would be out for blood.

The government would be bombing the fuck out of people with full support from Congress.

Including myself as part of the first "we" I'd be happy to see his fat orange ass hauled away. I'm sure there are plenty of Venezuelans who are glad Maduro is gone, too. The official national response certainly would be something else entirely, though Shady Vance probably would be secretly delighted to have his chance to be the tough guy who can fist-bump with Kegbreath.

I mean, if, say, I don't know... some EU nation deployed their intelligence agents and kidnapped him for trial at the Hague, I'd be pretty happy.

As a nation? I think we'd be pretty upset. 100 million people or so

But the idea of him getting taken away? Made me happy. I also wanted that to happen to the Cheneys (all of them), the Bushes, Kissinger, Wolfowitz (who is still around I think at the World Bank)...

the agreed-upon escape and dacha in Yakut. If a western European nation did it, I'd (all other things being equal) watch the process play out with curiosity.

I'd be happy and angry. Sometimes a bad action can result in good, although I suspect it would backfire and increase support for MAGA. I can likewise think Trump ordering Maduro's arrest and removal as a bad thing and be happy a dictator is removed. That happiness is tempered both by the means and very low confidence that it will benefit the Venezuelans or the world.

Promise not to send him back. It would be a positive move for everyone on the planet. Maduro had little impact on the global stage, this would be different in that it would benefit all life on the planet and, therefore, acceptable...even if they dropped him in the ocean on the way to his prison cell.

However what you describe would be a much better justification than the one(s) given by the Marmalade Shartcannon for kidnapping Maduro, done by multiple countries acting in alliance, pursuant to their joint defence treaties.

If it were done by, say, Iran, I think I'd be pissed, even though generally I want Trump removed from office, that is not the proper means.

I can't really speak for 'we' however, given the lack of specificity regarding who "we" are, in the context of the initial query

if the US would accept it even today unless we agree), likely say that what we are doing is vital to our national security, and deny, deny, deny any culpability. This most devastating thing would be internal, not external. Would Congress authorize war? Withdraw from NATO? Would the troops follow orders that clearly violate international law?

IMO, we would see "state level" resistance based on political support and I suspect the end of our so-called "United States". I think that history shows (although we have a very short history) that the US never...ever, admits it's mistakes. We don't even allow the history of our atrocities to be taught these days.

BOTTOM LINE - unless we impeach this lunatic we have running our country we are setting ourselves up for some bad shit.

With him gone, we would be watching the circus start daily as all his minions fight over what to do.

Vance would pretend to try and get him back, but then make sure it never happened so he could stay being president. He would issue threats then say for the good of the country we aren’t going to war….

and, given that they'd probably have to use a lot more force to get TSF, I'd probably be pretty frightened.

I'm just going to send him some gift cards to McDonalds and hope that does the trick.
