I don't like the hate I feel.

I envision certain people falling overboard...and I don't reach for a life preserver. Unlike my prior protective Pollyanna nature.

that first shot at Lexington. (Yes, I know, this was the start of the American Revolution, but I can't think of an equivalent incident for the Civil War. I welcome any input from history buffs here.)

Does Wahl (or Ellison) want to be the one who starts a second Civil War? Because that's exactly what that would be. And it's a pretty big ask of someone.

The ways things are proceeding, I do expect there to be a "first shot at Lexington" in the relatively near future.

What that's old Chinese curse? May you live in interesting times.

1/3 of the population were for independence, and 1/3 were loyalists. A good number of those loyalists fought against their fellow colonists.

The Ken Burns documentary was very enlightening.

If you've got a better one — and, actually, tblue37 kindly pointed out that the firing on Fort Sumter is a better parallel — please let me know.

The point I was making is that it will be a single action that will start the next Civil War. Wahl arresting this ICE agent could be it.

FWIW, to this day, no one knows for certain who fired that first shot at Lexington. Witnesses at the time reported that it was actually a militiaman, not the British, however.

That has any funding from the Federal Government. Congress has shown that they will not defend or stand up for their role in our government.

per Prof. Tribe tonight on Lawrence O'D. DOJ intervention could place a big burden on prosecution in the matter, even though the case would still have to apply state law, and prosecuted by a MN prosecutor.
