ICE just brutally assaulted and abducted two U.S. citizens at the peaceful protest for Renee Good near Minneapolis.

(454 posts)I'd bet they have their hands full just doing the daily stuff at this point - reactive mode rather than proactive mode.

(280 posts)Minnesotan here: I keep reading hostile comments all over the internet demanding that Walz order the Minnesota National Guard to remove ICE from the state immediately and that he is a weak and ineffective leader if he doesn't. But the minute he would attempt it Trump would federalize the Minnesota National Guard, institute the insurrection act, and likely have Walz arrested. Its unconstitutional and illegal for a state to do this. No matter how much people want it to happen it can't without serious consequences for our state and nation.
Cities also have no legal power to tell ICE to leave. They can't remove federal agents.
I know its frustrating but sometimes there is no way to get around it. The law on this is terrible....

(130,334 posts)public to meet this week and freeze ICE in their hotel rooms for a time out. I think Trump wants conflict. Easier to blame the liberal public as anti police or anti authorities if their is conflict.

(280 posts)Sorry about that. I misunderstood. Trump is all about conflict and revenge. He is just itching for some event he could use to invoke the Insurrection Act. He is especially unhinged about Minnesota right now for some reason. Its an ugly situation--he is going to keep pushing until something happens.
