We had about fifty people show up in our small Florida Keys community. The positivity from the passing motorists was about 30:1 anti Trump. Of course, there were a few aging white males in big trucks flipping the finger and rolling coal. A lot more love out there than hate. A sorrowful week ended on an upbeat note. What a galvanizing force Renee Good has become!

(42,522 posts)I was surprised. I thought people would put off the protest with the hope they could go to one when it wasn't raining. There are a lot of protests scheduled around here over the weekend.
Fortunately they had protest signs for people who didn't have one. My regular sign wasn't appropriate for this particular protest, so I availed myself of one of the signs already made. Mine said "Out of Venezuela Now!"
Lots of honking and waving in support. Two comments from guys who said stuff like "get a life." There are always jerks around, even in a blue town in a fairly blue state.

(42,522 posts)Its psychologically healthy to see so many others who feel like you and who will go to the trouble of standing outside for a while to express to others that things arent right.
I dare anyone with a defeatist attitude to go to a protest and come back underwhelmed.
We get a lot of bot posts here. They are designed to make us feel psychologically defeated. Protests are the antidote to this.
