I dont want my taxes to pay for ICE, to masked thugs to roam our streets and terrorize our communities and rip families apart, Matthews said while walking through his neighborhood on his birthday. We should be taking care of each other. We should be minding each other. We should be housing the homeless. We shouldnt be, you know, throwing people to the ground.
The clip comes after the Wednesday (Jan. 7) death of 37-year-old Good, who was shot while in her car during an ICE operation. Footage from the incident shows that seconds before the shooting, Good tried to drive away from the confrontation. Officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have said she was attempting to run over the officer.
Which brings me to Renee Nicole Good, Matthews continued. Murdered in front of her fellow citizens in Minneapolis, murdered in the streets. And no matter what narrative this administration is trying to sell us, we can see the videos.
He added, Maybe if they show you one and they slow it down and they tell you where to look, you might think, maybe theres a chance, maybe theres a chance that the gunman was felt threatened. But from most angles, near and far, it looks like she was trying to get away, and he shot her three times in the head, murdered in cold blood.
The singer-songwriter closed the video by calling members of the Trump administration deeply dishonest people, adding, These are dark times. Fk ICE.

(70 posts)I totally agree with him but my god, his "music"is the worst. This guy shouldn't be allowed within a half mile of a microphone. The absolute worst "singer" I've ever heard. There are thousands of drunken karaoke singers who could replace him easily.
The only thing I can stand to hear is the fiddle player.
I literally get nauseous if I hear one of his "songs". My god.

(21,837 posts)You felt the need to attack him for that, so you probably feel better now.
I'm at a loss for words here. And I'm not in the mood for a fight, so...congratulations, I guess.

(70 posts)If it weren't for his music, why would anyone notice what he was saying? Nepo baby Dave from South Africa would probably be waiting tables or be a bartender somewhere now if not for getting an easy path to music given to him. We wouldn't even know would we?
And thanks for attacking me for stating my opinion (everyone has one and is free to state it as I did and you did as well) I hope you feel better now.
