ICE agents going door to door in Minnesota asking where Asian neighbors live: report

ICE agents going door to door in Minnesota asking where Asian neighbors live: report - Rawstory via MSN

ICE agents were reportedly going door to door in Minnesota asking people to identify where their Asian neighbors live, according to reports Wednesday.

JD Vance last week signaled that federal agents would take the surprising action in his comments about "door-to-door" ICE raids, and it appeared that move was underway across Twin City neighborhoods, The New Republic reported.

ICE officers apparently went to St. Paul resident Elizabeth Lugert-Thom's home last week, according to a report from The Chicago Tribune. She warned in a Facebook post about the encounter where agents who were not wearing identification badges or disclosing their names asked her to share the location of any Hmong or Asian neighbors after they asked about a person they were searching for in the area.

Between February and July 2025, the arrests of Asian immigrants by ICE officers climbed to 3,705 arrests — more than tripling the 1,054 arrests of Asian people arrested under the Biden administration, according to a UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs study published in September.

Lived in Augusta Georgia (moved there while I served in the Navy🤔 , as did two of my brothers. Both married Vietnamese women. The Vietnamese population their because of the bigly military base and population is HUGE. Many many jungle Vets married these women and brought them back and many family members and became hard working large percentage of Augusta.
So, asking anyone from there, have you seen ICE thugs? I would think these white terrorist thugs would really hate any Vietnamese people.

I will post it if I can find it. But I have also heard this from my niece who lives in Minneapolis. She says that people are clamming up. "nope. Don't know any." "Don't know my neighbors, sorry." "Just moved in, don't know anybody." That sort of thing. Hope it lasts.

better still would be to politely, or maybe not so politely, tell them to FO and start acting like normal humans.

even if they're bottom of the barrel scrapings like ICE. Just smile, say have a nice day (or better, say nothing), and close the door.

ro lie to Nazis. God knows it was done often enough in WWII! Do you not understand that we are now at war?

Here is a story for you. There is an Orthodox saint (his name escapes me at the moment) whose door was knocked on by the Gestapo. He was told to "bring out the Jews he was hiding". He came back with icons of Jesus and the Mother of God. The Nazis were baffled but left...at least for that moment.

And this (lying to the Gestapo) is exactly what we will go on doing.

personal information on every person, US citizen or not. Seeking personal medical information from hospitals and such. They want lists of Jews from colleges and universities, hunting down Latinos, Somalis, challenging the citizenship of Native Americans, US born naturalized citizens, and just now banned the visa programs for 75 mostly POC countries.

Why, whatever could they be trying to TELL us? I wonder.

If they’re wearing masks, maybe people who have cameras should pretend to be really hard of hearing…..

The UCLA Center for Neighborhood Knowledge and the UCLA Asian American Studies Center released a joint research brief, “ICE Detentions of Asians: Increased Numbers and Hardships Under Trump.” The report details the Asian immigrant arrests by ICE surged during the first half of President Trump’s term. From February to July 2025, arrests more than tripled compared to the same period under the Biden administration, rising from 1,054 to 3,705. Arrests spiked in May with Trump’s push for one million deportations annually, peaked in June, and dipped in July under mounting opposition, court rulings, and overworked ICE staff.

Nearly all arrestees (96%) were detained, up from 88% the previous year. Transfers between detention centers also increased, which made it difficult for family members to locate the detainees and to help secure adequate legal counsel. California, Texas, and New York accounted for nearly half of all arrests, with California experiencing a ninefold jump.

Detainee demographics shifted notably: median age rose from 35 to 40, older detainees (55+) doubled their share, and female detainees rose by 471%, climbing from 9% to 14% of the total. Five countries—China, India, Vietnam, Laos, and Nepal—accounted for 82% of Asian detainees.

Despite Trump’s promise to target the “worst of the worst,” most detainees lacked criminal records. By June and July 2025, non-criminal detainees outnumbered those with convictions two to one. The report concludes that “the dragnet is expanding as the Trump administration hires more ICE agents, builds additional detention centers and has a freer hand to make indiscriminate stops that include elements of racial profiling.”

In an interview with Reuters yesterday,

He said he would continue sending armed agents into cities, claiming that his efforts had taken “thousands of murderers out of our country.” There is no evidence to support that assertion.
