Who do YOU feel does the best job of consistently trolling & triggering the fragile orange Man Baby In Chief?

“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert said President Donald Trump “designated a new national bird” when he gave the finger to an autoworker who called him a “pedophile protector” as he toured a Ford facility in Detroit earlier this week.

“You got to hand it to that autoworker for getting under Trump’s skin like compound butter on a Thanksgiving turkey,” Colbert said. “And all because he brought up the Epstein files.”

“Where are the Epstein files?” Colbert asked, causing the audience to erupt. “Where are they?”

During the 2024 campaign, Trump and his allies repeatedly promised that, if elected, they would release all of the files related to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was once a close friend of the president. Instead, Trump and his team have spent the past year working to block the release of those same files.

I was thinking in terms of "late night comics," but yeah...Newsom has a pretty impressive track record.

There are a number of ways to approach it...the Andy Borowitz "let's make it so ridiculous that it's even more ridiculous than something Trump would actually do" angle, and the one that's basically observe and report...make Trump look ridiculous on the sheer strength of his immaturity, without embellishment. Newsom's closer to that second option.

Informing and community building. Okay.

Meanwhile Trump proceeds Trumping.

If I had a nickel for every time Trump "melted down" or "crashed out" I could pay the national debt.

Humor can serve a purpose in informing and building community, but anyone on the left who is high-fiving each other over the sick burn of the smartass du jour is kidding themselves.

Trump has no shame and no self-restraint. While the trolls get their clicks and monetize your despondency, Trump has forced regime change in one nation, is threatening to meddle in another regime change, signalling a takeover of a NATO ally, is coordinating an army of brownshirts to harass and harm American citizens and legal immigrants, manipulating the economy for himself and his rich friends, ignoring rulings re: Epstein and economic reports while ingratiating himself to authoritarians abroad.

Laugh it up all you want, but we are not going to joke or meme our way out of this.

And I'm not "high-fiving each other over the sick burn of the smartass du jour."

I marvel at some of the folks here who don't know me at all, but on the basis of one post, psychoanalyze me and lay out a detailed diagnosis of my motivations in every aspect of my life.

It's a gift, really. You should be proud. And judging by what you wrote, it's clear that you are.

I wrote a post about comics who ridicule Trump. It's not like it's laced with the DaVinci code.

"Have a nice day."

No one psychoanalyzed you. My issue is with the general sentiment that Trump spends his days in the fetal position because the internet says mean things and that it somehow diverts or distracts him from destroying our country.

But hey, you have a great day, too.
