What Happens When A Cult Leader Dies?

History has shown that usually the followers disperse and eventually resume their lives in general society. That is, if they managed to survive the cult.

But what if the cult's members number a million or more? What if they will not 'go gentle' into that leader-less night? How will those who were never part of the cult deal with that?

Part of me wants to think that it will all balance out and a more enlightened commonality will prevail. But another part thinks that will only happen after the price of conflict and sorrow is paid by many.

Let us hope the balance is an easier leveling.
