if trump orders the military to invade greenland, it would be an unlawful order. the military must refuse that order.
after a small amount of research, this is how i understand it. does anyone else have a different take?

They are the ones who write the legal opinions that give troops cover to obey potentially unlawful orders, as was done with the attacks on the boats in the Caribbean.

(1,571 posts)Treaties are co-equal with the US Constitution. If that's the case, you are absolutely and unambiguously correct. Such an order would be illegal. Anyone obeying it is subjecting themselves to the possibility of legal action.
