So, Canada buys cars from China, and China buys Canadian crops, and America misses out on both.

Under the deal, Canada dropped its 100 percent tariff on Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) and raised its cap on EV imports in exchange for Beijing lowering tariffs on Canadian farm products, including canola seeds.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said the “historic” visit to Beijing heralded a “new strategic partnership” that “created massive opportunities for both our peoples.”

Supposedly the Chinese EVs are really good cars. I know in the past that some cars have been prevented from being sold in the US because they didn't meet safety standards.

I am pro protecting US automakers. But I also think US automakers haven't been pro protecting US workers.

Cheap compared to other available EV’s and lots of interesting features, and surging market share. BYD passed Tesla in terms of individual EV sales.
