2. I like the protest tactic

of pouring water around ICE's vehicles. Ironic to say the least. I'd say throw some water on their windshields, too. MN winters are brutal especially for people who don't know how to cope. Like those ICE boys from down south.

This is to protect the agents. What about the people? By cloaking their identities the agents are encouraged to violate civil rights and abuse American citizens. The thing that would normally keep them in check, being held responsible for their actions, is impossible if you don’t know who they are. Where is our protection from this?

7. Chain of custody!

Providence of evidence.

Two critical aspects to proving any charge in a (legitimate) court of law.
Absent those critical controls, the case should be summarily dismissed.
With them the violent thugs can be sued civilly for the bad behavior.

6. Cognitive dissonance

They got sold on the idea that undocumented immigrants were a huge problem, that they were going to take over the country, that they were all criminals at heart, and so on. They got handed quotas that were impossible to fill unless they started to haul in anyone who had the audacity to walk around with brown skin, who were studying on valid visas or doing research in university labs with valid visas. They got sold on the idea that this is some kind of war (easy for combat vets who didn't adjust well to civilian life) and they are an occupying army sent to purge the country of undesirables. A minority are just bigots, raised on the old Nazi great replacement propaganda, fueled by a demographer 50 years ago who said by 2032, northern Europeans would be a minority in this country and that terrifies them.

Most of all, they got told that Middle America would pelt them with rose petals and throw them parades in deep gratitude.

Now they're starting to find out the ugly truth, that everything MAGA recruiters and trainers told them is a lie, that they're onlyr rounding up a labor force this country absolutely relies on, that they are hated for it, and that unattainable ends never justify unacceptable means. Some of them might be dimly realizing that putting this gig on a resumé will kill off future job prospects and they're getting panicky. That is not good for legitimate law enforcement and it's ten times worse in an army of occupation.

Expect this to get worse because it will as the more reasonable guys get disgusted and quit and leave only the bigots and gun nuts behind.
