Ocasio-Cortez ramps up fight with Vance amid 2028 speculation

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is increasingly taking aim at Vice President Vance, her possible opponent in a 2028 presidential matchup, should she choose to launch a White House bid.

In the last week, Ocasio-Cortez has drawn a stark contrast between her views and those of Vance on the recent Minneapolis shooting, arguing that his defense of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent’s actions reflects a different vision of the country.

I understand that Vice President Vance believes that shooting a young mother of three in the face three times is an acceptable America that he wants to live in, and I do not,” she told a gaggle of reporters earlier this month.

“And that is a fundamental difference between Vice President Vance and I. I do not believe that the American people should be assassinated in the street."

1. I doubt very much she will be our nominee

but her perspective could well have a normalizing effect on the political spectrum if she runs in the primaries.

Incidentally MAGAt pushback at her comments will be more intense outside of NYC.

We all know it has to be a white person with a penis.

I agree, she would have little appeal to voters in redneck areas.

But she is making good noise right now! Hopefully opening some eyes, which is why I posted this.

4. She's not running for president in 2028, but...

I’m sure she is seriously considering running for Schumer’s seat in the senate, whether he retires or not.

The 2028 Dem nominee will be a straight white male not named Shapiro or Newsom.

5. She is responding to things the VP says and does. They are acting like she is doing this for her political career

If she runs for higher office it's more likely going to be the Senate which I hope she does. If she seriously wants to run for President some day I think she needs to win statewide first .
