ICE is now going door to door asking about Asian people in Minnesota

Minneapolis/St. Paul has the largest Hmong population in the US.

Hispanics. Somalis. Now Hmongs. Who's next?

https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/ice-in-minnesota/st-paul-mayor-kaohly-her-reports-ice-agents-asking-where-the-asian-people-live/89-10880612-bb5f-4bd2-978b-786ae8760afb

Her said St. Paul residents have reported ICE agents using racial profiling tactics to make arrests.

"We've received reports of federal law enforcement officers going door-to-door asking people where the Asian people live right in our very own city," Her said. "I myself have received advice to carry my passport with me because they may try to target me based on what I look like as well."

The St. Paul mayor was born in Laos and is the first woman, Asian American and Hmong American to serve in the role.

As for living and working in St. Paul, Her said residents are scared. Business owners in the city have reportedly reached out for help after sales have dropped up to 60%, according to Her.

They are more than ok with it. The Republicans want this. The Republicans are not passive bystanders, they are willing accomplices and instigators.

I’m confused. I thought it was all about “alleged” day care fraud by immigrants from Somalia.

6. My wife is scared to leave the house and she's Puerto Rican

She texts me every morning when she gets to work, and every evening when she leaves work, and we're in the exurbs 45 min south of Minneapolis. But there have still been multiple ICE arrests in our semi-rural town of 20,000.

She won't go anywhere else without me next to her, because I'm a muscular middle-aged white man with a big beard, so I look MAGA. She's terrified she'll be picked up and they won't believe she's an American.

11. What is a terrorist? A poem. By Henry Gibson.

A terrorist carries deadly weapons with the intent of mayhem.
A terrorist hides his identity.
A terrorist wears garb that belies his intent, for example, cosplay law enforcement.
— Remember the phony cops at the Saint Valentine’s Day massacre?
— They were ice-cold-blooded murderers.
A terrorist drives unmarked vehicles.
A terrorist records his own misdeeds.
A terrorist generally is silent.
A terrorist intentionally defies laws.
A terrorist is part of a secret cadre, hidden from disclosure.
A terrorist's main job is to instill terror, and by the way ...
A terrorist kills.

People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.

That's absolutely true. The movie is "V for Vendetta." I feel a deep and fundamental sense of wrongness when I think about how ICE is making Americans feel, and I salute each and every person who stands up to them. People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people. Right on.
