I lived in the Branson, MO area for a few years some 30-40 years ago...not far from Harrison...

On the way in from the north, there was one of those blue "Adopt-A-Highway" signs for volunteer litter control. It caught our eye because it said "The next 3 miles adopted by the Knights Of The Ku Klux Klan".
Uh . . . .OK . . .

I did go to Harrison a few times because there was a decent music shop there that I liked. I remember the KKK signs on picking up litter. I always wondered if they wore the white sheets while they picked trash...hmmm..
