Trump is a megalomaniacal, criminal madman, he is the singular force that is destroying the entire world order and the whole American system, and rather than acknowledging him as a crisis, our institutions are still, STILL determined to relentlessly normalize him

The president is a mad king threatening war against Americaâs closest allies because heâs got a psychological fixation on an empty frozen island and a Nobel Peace Prize snub and the best the media or opposition can manage is âTrump changes Americaâs priorities, perhaps for the worseâ

He could build himself a golden monument on the White House lawn and it would be described as âan unusual project that belies his focus on affordability.â He could institute a military blockade of my city and it would be described as âa hard-edged approach to immigration policy.â

Our worthless class of elites is responsible for Trump, not because they agree with him but because their affectation of seriousness has suffocated them and made it impossible to leverage their resources and platforms to stop or slow him. Theyâd have to break the pose, and REACT, and they will not.

I cannot express how it makes me feel to see my Minneapolis neighbors living every day in the line of fire, risking injury, imprisonment, and death at the hands of a tyrant, while these soft, empty suits prance around at Davos and hope that if they pretend hard enough heâll go away.

All the way back to 2015, itâs the pretending that is killing us. We have the strength to stop this weak man and his deranged plans, but we wonât, because it would require us to drop all our self-praising little fictions about being masters of restraint and subtlety, and actually strike back.

But really, it is all just about money. If you have it, if you feel the need to protect it - vs those that are being screwed.

(23,278 posts)One of the things that is interesting about reading conspiracy theory is that much of what folks think is conspiracy is really many people acting in concert to make or protect their money.

And when its all over, the dust settles, and they have acquired even more wealth and control, they can look us straight in the eye and say, gosh, I think were all glad that over.

(13,251 posts)agreed in principle with a board to help in Gaza but that he had no details yet on the board. This came to him while he was out of the country and he had not been told the details, he said if such a board was put in place that any money paid to it would be 100% only for the rebuilding of Gaza. Also at the time he did not know of others such as Putin being invited. It will not happen as Trump has laid out. So his agreement was taken totally out of context.

They have never heard of or do not understand the concept of "enlightened self interest", and have opted for narrow short term self interest at the expense of the general populace due to their own greed, selfishness and megalomania.
If they were really as smart as they think they are, they would not try to force on the country and the world, a dangerous, harmful destructive ideology.

(38,287 posts)What is Will Stancel suggesting here? How does he suggest "we" "actually strike back"? Armed Revolution? A General Strike? Is posting snarky judgments of everyone on Bluesky "striking back"?

(180 posts)the both-sidesism the legacy media does is tiresome.
I think some people here underestimate how many people out there don't like Trump but don't see us in an emergency situation because the MSM acts like this is just partisan politics of the last 30 years.
