just down the road from where Frederick Douglas grew up and Harriet Tubman started the Underground Railroad.... I got into an online discussion with locals after the newspaper did an article on the ICE protests... Oh My.... the people here that truly believe we are paid to protest is mind blowing... and the fundamental Christians who truly believe we have to follow all the laws because the Bible says so.... and the people who believe that immigrants are taking all of their tax money... and so many other ridiculous arguments... I am incredulous the racism is strong

started his argument .... our Country was founded on Christian values... I nicely told him our Country was founded on the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.... some of the founding fathers were men of faith but believed in separation and Jesus would be abhorred by what was going on.... so he sent me all sorts of quotes from the Bible on how we need to follow the law... and I nicely reminded him that these quotes were not Jesus' but those of followers that came afterwards and they needed to keep people in line and Jesus' only law was Love "love thy neighbor as thyself"
