I had a client today refuse an offer of $1,000 free government money for her newborn child

You guessed it, it was because of the name "Trump Account."

I even said, "Well maybe someday they'll change the name."

Nope, she wouldn't budge.

And by the way, her income was below the poverty line for her family.

Sad when something potentially good coming from Congress has a political price tag attached, one that many people just won't be prepared to pay. At least "Obamacare" was actually named the "Affordable Care Act" - it was the Repukes who originally started calling it "Obamacare." I have no other option but to call it a "Trump Account" because there is no other name.

or have someone wrap his head around, has to be branded with his name. Same as it's always been. He doesn't own/manage buildings, hotels, etc... he just charges for others to use his name. Talk about a cheapskate way to "make money"... It's so bad, AFAIC, I hate to use the verb "trumps" any longer!

Or something else. The OP sounds like the "client" turned down $1k in immediate assistance for food, clothing, shelter, etc because it had Trump's stink on it.

Doesn't seem like most other people were confused. Certainly that was not my intent.
