Sadly, I don't believe there is very much we can do until Democrats retake the House and make gains in the Senate

ICE is already funded through the Big Ugly Bill, and we don't have enough votes in the Senate to stop more ICE funding through CR. The House and Senate Republicans seem completely unwilling to put even simple restraints on ICE.

Senator Patty Murray, who I have tremendous respect for, left this message on her facebook the other day

https://www.facebook.com/senatorpattymurray/posts/heres-my-statement-on-the-homeland-security-funding-bill-that-was-just-releasedw/122251211276177122/

We cannot let them forget about, or stop talking about the murder of Renee Good. We must continue to protest peacefully. We must continue to raise our voices about our disgust and disapproval of ICE's actions. And we must vote and do everything we can to encourage others to vote in the midterms because we desperately need the House and more Senate votes

It's criminal, un-American, fascist, reckless, deadly and deplorable.

but when the time comes, I think Democrats should nominate someone who isn't a politician, someone tough as nails, a Malcolm Nance-like person, former military, even a Republican like Miles Taylor. Take politics out of it, nominate a fighter. We won't have to debate over moderate or progressive.

our house is burning down, measuring for new drapes isn't the answer.

Jason Crow said it 2 days ago; the are 2 camps of Democrats, those who are courageous and want to fight now, and those who want to wait and beat Trump at the ballot box.

Many more elected Democrats need to be out leading the way.... safely of course....it is a higher risk for them , primary congressional leaders, as they are known targets...

But yes....more out leading.

Will they do anything other than drink more and start working their Plan B to become talking heads or whatever after getting voted out of office or at least shifted to the minority, doubtful. But the more they have to look over their shoulder, deal with negative publicity and see ICE and other resources of their evil tied up with protests, court orders, etc., the less damage they can do until Dems get back in power. While we'd all love to be fully on the offensive politically, sometimes a delaying action is the best we can do.

I don't think you are advocating for the "Schumer plan," I heard him say it on TV, Krasnov will burn it all down and then we win elections is not a good strategy.
