Forbes: 'It's Now Happening'--Urgent $38 Trillion U.S. Dollar 'Collapse' Warning Issued As Markets Brace For Gold And Bit

Full title: ‘It’s Now Happening’—Urgent $38 Trillion U.S. Dollar ‘Collapse’ Warning Issued As Markets Brace For Gold And Bitcoin Price Shocks

Bitcoin and gold have split in recent months as gold soars and the bitcoin price plummets—with U.S. president Donald Trump’s tariff trade war again threatening to weigh on the U.S. dollar.

“The existing fiat monetary order, the domestic political order, and the international geopolitical order are all breaking down, so we are at the brink of wars,” Dalio posted to X.

Last year, the U.S. dollar lost almost 10% as measured by the U.S. Dollar Index, with further losses expected alongside huge gains for gold, silver and the bitcoin price this year.

“It all is happening because of the big cycle that is driven by the five big forces," Dalio wrote, referring to the forces he laid out in his book Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order, which are economic cycles, domestic disorder, great power conflicts, acts of nature and technological development.

Viewing the charts our dollar value is way down.

I had some euro and pounds from past European trips and they have gained in value!

The "thirty eight trillion US dollars US dollar collapse" doesn't seem to quantify any predicted collapse; instead, "38 trillion" refers to the current US national debt. You could just as well call it a "342 million people US dollar collapse".

If "U.S. president Donald Trump’s tariff trade war again threatening to weigh on the U.S. dollar" (a reasonable thing to say - the fall in the dollar index happened mainly at the start of March, and mid-April: https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/quote/DX-Y.NYB/ ), then it is not "all is happening because of the big cycle that is driven by the five big forces" - because the tariff trade war is not a cycle, nor one of those forces listed.

All in all, someone who writes "about how bitcoin, crypto and blockchain can change the world" is probably a bit of a prat, and not worth listening to.

And, he has been wrong, more often than right.

In that we agree, but … there are many flags waved in the article that bear watching
