Viewers Fart In The General Direction Of Tony Dokoupil, say his mother was a hamster & his father smelt of elderberries

https://www.thedailybeast.com/maga-coded-anchor-tony-dokoupil-scores-lowest-ratings-of-the-century-for-cbs-news/

The new-look CBS Evening News is on track for its least-viewed January since at least the turn of the millennium.

Nielsen data obtained by the New York Post show that newly-seated anchor Tony Dokoupil hasn’t delivered in the ratings department, despite having marketed himself as “more accountable and more transparent” than Walter Cronkite.

Since Dokoupil’s debut on Jan. 5, CBS’s evening show has brought in an average of 4.3 million viewers per night, 560,000 of whom are between 25 and 54 years old—its lowest-rated January since at least 2000.

Overall ratings are down approximately 20 percent from this time last year, when Norah O’Donnell hosted the show.

Im assuming the remaining 75% are iverwhelmingly over age 54??? That's rough. Advertisers don't value over 54 because they can't be swayed with commercials that manipulated "use this toothpaste and you'll be loved"

It's hard to use the word "naivete" here, because it implies some kind of child-like innocence, as in "awww...she tried SO HARD, let's give her a hug."

Nope.

She's a MAGAt "opinion blogger" who was installed by Larry Ellison's nepo baby son to turn CBS News into a MAGAt-friendly program.

She did that, and now she's reaping the reward...LEGENDARY, EPIC FAILURE.

There are more than three channels. The news isn't a dinner time and before bedtime twice-a-day occurrence. Network news especially ain't what it once was, even though it was never perfect.

Still, in a country of 350 million people, 270 million adults, that barely two percent are watching the news on one of the major outlets is shocking. I think that a big part of the reason that this country is in the shape that it is in is ignorance and apathy. And this showcases both ignorance and apathy

One of the biggest reasons CBS Evening News is catching so much heat...beyond the obvious...is that they decided to do this to the program that has been "sacred ground" for decades, the show anchored by one of the most legendary news people of all time, Walter Cronkite.

His last show was in 1981, so other than being a guy with his own chapter in the history books, he may not mean much to the demographic who's walked away from the "new" re-imagining of the show.

But for the "Baby Boomers," this is the same kind of offense as Trump plastering his name on the Kennedy Center.

You just do not whiz on sacred ground and win the approval of the public.
