NBC News Live Updates
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz activated the National Guard following a fatal shooting by DHS agents in Minneapolis this morning.
At an afternoon news conference, Walz said he would be "billing the federal government for the cost of the National Guard because they are incurring the costs that are falling on us."

(8,569 posts)There are several groups, all with different training and different missions:
1) local police
2) state police
3) state national guard
4) "nationalized" national guard
5) ICE
6) regular military
Which of these groups is actually BEST trained for crowd control in a domestic setting?
I'd think local police. Are they there doing that?
All of those other groups seem like they would just escalate a bad situation.
Making so much sense.
