His name was Alex Pretti

Last edited Sat Jan 24, 2026, 07:22 PM - Edit history (1)

A young man working as an ICU nurse in Minneapolis, and had worked for the VA, serving our veterans.

He devoted his life to saving others. He wasn't a deranged leftist lunatic.

He was executed today.

RiP.

Update: a good friend of mine from college posted on Facebook that he was friends with him at the U of MN when he was doing grad work in the labs. Other friends of his also started chiming in. Confirmed what everyone is saying: he was a wonderful, kind man.

https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-news/what-we-know-about-alex-pretti-the-man-killed-by-federal-agents-in-minneapolis

Dr. Dimitri Drekonja, the chief of infectious diseases at the Minneapolis VA and a professor of medicine at the University of Minnesota, confirmed on social media that he worked with Pretti at the VA.

"Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I [loved] working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these f****** executed him. White. Hot. Rage," Drekonja wrote.

This world is a vastly worse off place without them.

Executed in cold blood by the worst of humanity.

I have to keep believing there will be justice, there just has to be. Karma please do your job!

ICE has only one job - to defend our borders against the influx of illegal immigrants. Minneapolis is nowhere near a border.

ICE needs to get out of Minnesota and go to Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and apprehend illegally entering immigrants. If they can't do their jobs they need to be fired. How many federal employees have lost their jobs in the last 12 months, and none committed murder? But these ICE guys are getting overpaid, and given carte blanche, and then they're sent where they don't belong.

When Alex Pretti bent over to help the lady an agent saw his gun and decided that this was the person who they could kill and most easily get away with it.

and has spent their whole adult life in activist collectives (none of this is true of Mr. Pretti), the federal government still doesn't get to shoot them down in the street.

Mr. Pretti sounds like a wonderful person who was living an admirable life. But there is no "standard" below which one deserves to be killed arbitrarily by the state.

Alex Pretti "used to tell people off when they made sexist comments to female physicians. He bought me coffee when I had a really bad day as an intern...I laughed alongside him daily. He made a point to teach medical residents without judgement, but with a smile on his face and a joke."
