A young man working as an ICU nurse in Minneapolis, and had worked for the VA, serving our veterans.
He devoted his life to saving others. He wasn't a deranged leftist lunatic.
He was executed today.
RiP.
Update: a good friend of mine from college posted on Facebook that he was friends with him at the U of MN when he was doing grad work in the labs. Other friends of his also started chiming in. Confirmed what everyone is saying: he was a wonderful, kind man.

Executed in cold blood by the worst of humanity.
I have to keep believing there will be justice, there just has to be. Karma please do your job!

(40,431 posts)ICE has only one job - to defend our borders against the influx of illegal immigrants. Minneapolis is nowhere near a border.
ICE needs to get out of Minnesota and go to Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and apprehend illegally entering immigrants. If they can't do their jobs they need to be fired. How many federal employees have lost their jobs in the last 12 months, and none committed murder? But these ICE guys are getting overpaid, and given carte blanche, and then they're sent where they don't belong.

(7,369 posts)and has spent their whole adult life in activist collectives (none of this is true of Mr. Pretti), the federal government still doesn't get to shoot them down in the street.
Mr. Pretti sounds like a wonderful person who was living an admirable life. But there is no "standard" below which one deserves to be killed arbitrarily by the state.

(2,646 posts)Alex Pretti "used to tell people off when they made sexist comments to female physicians. He bought me coffee when I had a really bad day as an intern...I laughed alongside him daily. He made a point to teach medical residents without judgement, but with a smile on his face and a joke."
