He was NOT armed. UPDATED - He was NOT waving a weapon as earlier reports stated. I believe it was in his holster and removed by ICE during the struggle.

Minnesota Public Radio reported a statement from a witness to the shooting:

"The gentleman I was standing next to was focused on helping people who were coming into Nicollet Avenue understand that they needed to take it slow and helping them get through. The ICE agents approached us, told us to [']back up, back up.['] I'm not even sure why[—]we were helping them, if anything. And I got on the snow bank, and next thing I knew, they shot him."

The individual was identified as Alex Jeffrey Pretti of south Minneapolis, a 37-year-old U.S. citizen.[2][3][4][2] Records showed he was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and held an active nurse's license as of 2021.[5][6] Pretti's parents said he was an intensive care nurse.[7] Pretti worked in health science and with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.[7][6]

According to local officials, Pretti was a lawful gun owner and had a permit to carry a gun.[8][9] A DHS statement claimed the victim was carrying two magazines and no ID.[10] Law enforcement reported that he had no serious criminal history; records searches turned up traffic tickets.[5]

He was holding a phone and other reports are saying he may have had a weapon in a holster and during that struggle, the ICE agents removed it PRIOR to his being shot.

From a car just down the street. They blast the victim and as soon as the shooting stops you can see this agent in black clap twice like someone scored a basket.

He is clapping for agents riddling a man's body with bullets....

Camera in one hand, the other hand empty. Before the incident, during the attempt to rescue the other person being attacked, and to the ground. This guy never made a single move for his weapon.

In fact, they more or less bundled him into the red backpack person as he was trying to disentangle himself.

There are five or six separate recordings of this incident from every angle and not one supports the ICE/Bovino/Noem position.

This man was at the very least killed in a negligent homicide. Minimum.

Nothing will ever happen. This is clear murder on video. I’m sorry but you can’t just claim “I feared for my life” every time you F up. There was like 6 guys on top of him. Residing arrest is a minor charge not a death sentence.
