1. It's despicable how they are trying to smear him

But maybe given they are so obviously openly lying about him in ways that are indisputably shown by the video, maybe his murder will turn enough of the public against this to make Republicans turn on Trump/ICE. While I think it's obvious that the Renee Good murder was unjustified, there's enough leeway to convince some people who want to be convinced that it was justified. When they are telling us that Pretti approached them with a gun and the video shows that's nonsense, it's a very ugly case to sell.
