We can stand in powerful, angry, effective, moral opposition to the wrongs we see without getting trapped in the sort of condescending assumptions about "the other" and personal animosity and soul sapping hatred that alienates, immobilizes, and creates seemingly impossible divides, even where aspirations are actually shared.
