Where are the campus encampments protesting events here in the U.S. like there were against events happening in Gaza?

The campus encampments protesting against events happening in Gaza were a seemingly ubiquitous part of the college experience in Spring of 2024. They very quickly sprung up on dozens of college campuses nationwide, where they remained for months. Where are similar displays of solidarity in the face of the carnage now going on in the United States at the hands of armed forces invading our own country?

22,000 people verified slaughtered in Iran in less than a week - so far (many thousands dead but unverified so not added to the official death toll). Not a peep… 🤔

I spoke up against Saudi Arabia going back to the Obama administration. I wouldn't ally with them if I were the US. Not to familiar with what is going on in Somalia but I know Israel is one of the only countries to recognize the breakaway Somalialand region and wants to deport Palestinians to there.

Iran I'm against their regime but also don't support failed coup attempts facilitated by Trump.

Looks like I missed those. I did, however see lots of war crimes, manufactured starvation and kids blown to smithereens.

But I digress.

Nothing would hearten me more than to see our youth rise up against the fascism and brutality of the Trump Regime, as they did against the genocide.

But you know what? They would meet the same fate on campus now as the anti-genocide protesters did. Silenced, expelled, deported, jailed, blacklisted etc. Protests on campus have been criminalized and severely restricted.

It's a case of be careful what you wish for....

and trauma for the last year with no sign of relief anywhere in sight. There's literally nobody sane in charge. Many of the students may have graduated, been deported or expelled and their priorities have obviously shifted.

Where's Occupy Wall Street? Where's Antifa?

I think more than a few have been rounded up by ICE/DHS and have been detained/incarcerated while several Dems vote to fund and enable this regime--46 of them in January, while leadership rolled over in March.

Any way the world has moved on to trump's Board of Piece of Gaza aka The Kushner Strip planning committee.

I suspect those protests were funded to help Cheeto's campaign plus to establish the precedent of restraint on protests. The funding seemed to dry up right in November 2024.

Are also the same ones upset about federal paramilitary occupations of blue states/cities.

Trump severely curtailed free speech on college campus so many may be reluctant but just because you don't hear or the media doesn't cover it doesn't mean that the same people aren't also upset about this.

It seems those that support the genocide like Bari Weiss also support what ICE is doing in the US.

While some of it was a genuine concern for Palestinian lives and an anger over sending arms to Israel, much of it was the same old shit — anti semitism and a need to act like they were part of an important cause.

But I’ve noticed they quieted down once the deportations stepped up. Contrary to what many here believe this generation isn’t particularly progressive, liberal, or even serious about anything. It’s also more homophobic than the previous generation. It’s telling that when the administration is terrorizing American cities they shut up and act compliant.

Maybe many of those protests were funded by Russia or the GOP. It was good bait.

Because there are many dozen videos showing ICE protestors on college campuses available through a basic Google search.

Have you spent any significant time on college campuses to see what life is like there now that not only Federal but State governments are prohibiting free speech - and punishing both students and faculty for speaking out? Every semester evaluation now includes a mandatory question about whether the instructor is nice enough to the poor little right wing babies. Not worded that way explicitly, but it is the result of laws which require they not be offended. Trans individuals are forced to tolerate being referred to by their gender assigned at birth, and the name given by their parents. Dumping this on their shoulders, simply because some of them saw fit to protest mass slaughter of Palestinians (which, FYI, is not happening here yet) under a different administration (which didn't slash funding, sue protesters, and deport individuals here lawfully simply for exercising their first amendment rights) is pretty rude, unless you are on campus organizing the protests you complain are non-existent.

and such protesters were pretty severely persecuted legally for their 'encampments'---
including many being kicked out of colleges, and even prosecuted criminally in some cases---
(so much for moral protest!)

Two months from now I will hope for some such action from them---

in the meantime, Israel's GENOCIDE against the people of GAZA
has completely gone off of ANYONE's 'radar', including the young--- YES ??

(but not off of MINE... and it seems to continue, but gets no news coverage)
