(13,928 posts)and while y'all are laughing at the OP's mistake, think about the MESSAGE. How many of us would truly be willing to stand out there in the street with the other protesters in Minneapolis against the ICE brownshirts? I would, for one, I'm 82 and have nothing to lose but my life. I've stood on the barricades before in the 1960s and in 1970. My late ex made me stop in 1970 because I was pregnant and he feared for the baby. My husband would probably try to make me stop now but he can't. I'm still my own person.

(181 posts)"Peace isn't what you ask for when the boot is already on someone's neck.
Peace is what the powerful ask for when they don't want to be interrupted.
And sometimes the most faithful thing you can do is stop praying around the pain and start standing inside it."
Now that both cuts through all the bullshit and demands action, real action.
If my dad could fly numerous combat missions in a B-17, well hell, the absolute least I can do is bombard my worthless senator with phone calls and stand in the cold to say I do not consent to this. The consequences will be what they will be.
