Notice how the headlines in European Newspapers are more accurate than the pro-trump sanewashing vomit regurgitated by American papers?

(150,776 posts)I still don't know who you are, though. I looked at your thread on bluesky, but all I found were reposts of other people. So, I'm not really familiar with you.
Good luck, though.

(59,809 posts)Since I live in Europe, the European headlines are all I see, except when I visit the US. It's just as well, it seems.
I am fortunate enough to read German, French, Dutch, Swedish, Spanish and Italian, so I am not limited to seeking out English language newspapers to find out what's going on. The Guardian is good (I even did a project for them about 17 years ago, when Deb Summers was an editor), but they are not the last word on everything, so I like to get a broader spectrum of reporting and opinions.

The constant DU drumbeat of "if only the Media were more editorial Americans would wake up"...

(7,692 posts)Local media tends to get filtered or 'shaped' according to some deeply seated propaganda filters.
But you are so used to the local media shaping and filtering, it goes unrecognised.
Most media are experts at semantics and shaping what they want you to think, just by the words used and working towards 'conclusions' they want to establish in your mind.
Russians for instance, don't read Pravda.
They look at overseas news.
Good OS news sources for Americans:
Aljazeera.
BBC, UK.
If you are multilingual, lots of others too.
Widespread exposure to different sources for news and opinion pieces is best for free thinkers.
