'Unaccountable, untrained, lawless': NJ gov. demands ICE agents off streets after another deadly shooting

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill has called for Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to be taken “off the streets immediately” following another fatal shooting in Minnesota.

“This is an unaccountable, untrained, lawless organization that is terrorizing American citizens,“ Sherrill, a Democrat sworn in last week, told host Dana Bash on CNN’s ”State of the Union” on Sunday.

“These untrained, masked agents aren’t making communities safer — they’re occupying cities, inciting violence, and violating the Constitution,“ Sherrill later said in a post on X. ”There must be accountability for their lawless actions."

Sherrill and other prominent New Jersey Democrats have escalated their demands for legal action against officials in President Donald Trump’s administration and federal agents after a U.S. Border Patrol officer shot and killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis on Saturday.
