This morning I caught sight of my late sweethearts rebar standing in a barn corner. Solid as a rock but made with a beautiful braided design. Beautiful if youre a lover of metal like he was, like I am. A rod that made me think of the good folks in Minnesota
.solid, steely.
Alex Prettis last-breath-site, overseen by solid citizens driven to act with precision and driven to speak with clarity is a noteworthy example for the rest of us. Theres no time for bland, feeble, wishy-washy responses. No calls to wait on the sidelines until the Feds offer up their version of truth. These brave people in Minnesota understand the profound meaning of this moment and their role in it. Not a time for timidity, not a time for lukewarm.
We should expect at least that much from Congress, party leaders, past presidents and vice presidents. We should demand they all speak with precision, without consultant-driven wiggle room. Business leaders, educational leaders, clergy, editorial boards, folks with microphones.
We must stand up and be counted, whether we have a yacht or rowboat, a limo or rent-a-wreck, whether were from Minnesota or Maine. Rise up. Call, email, buy a bumper sticker, make a sign, call our representatives, write a letter to the Editor, attend a rally or vigil, write something, say something, do something, and do it with such a purposeful clarity that nobody is left to wonder where we stand.

(20,592 posts)That didn't happen, but I believe some help from our congressional leaders is warranted by now. Instead of dropping in on Morning Joe or posting an indignant tweet, they should be closer to the front lines.
Go the Minneapolis and put themselves in a soapbox and speak to the brave citizens directly. Meet up with the protestors and let them know they are not in this fight alone.
Very creatively written post BTW.

(12,298 posts)If folks in Minnesota can brave Fed-sponsored terror tactics and below zero temperatures, congressional leaders can do more than they have. Go stand in the cold for a couple of hours .with very brave, principled people.
