John Stamos issues statement on ICE

John Stamos is known for keeping his public platform focused on family, gratitude, and career milestones. But on Monday, January 26, the actor made it clear that staying silent no longer felt possible.

“I usually stay out of politics. This doesn't feel like that,” the note begins. “What I'm seeing from ICE feels cruel. I don't need it explained away or reframed. I trust my own eyes!”

When people are treated like threats instead of human beings, when fear is the tactic, something is broken,” he wrote. “‘Stay in your lane, actor’ doesn't apply when basic humanity is IS the lane. This is ALL OF OUR LANE!”

He took a lot of guff for doing a fundraiser at Magger Lardo (maybe 6 months ago or so?). He said him being there wasn't supporting tangeranus. He said was there supporting nursing (I think that's what the fundraiser was for...too lazy to google it).

to support a cause (well, I guess nursing isn't really a 'cause'). I don't know if I could.

It's interesting that he spoke out after a nurse was killed. I wonder why nursing is so high on his list. It should be, of course, but it seems as if it's personal.

The actor concluded his message noting that his “political views remain unchanged” and asked fans to consider donating to the AHNO, which helps to address “the critical shortage of healthcare professionals in our community.”

He also shared a link to Democracy Forward, a nonprofit organization that seeks to use the law to fight attacks on democracy and people, according to its website. The link that Stamos shared led to a donation webpage that read: “President Trump swore an oath to the Constitution. We need your help to hold him and his administration accountable…"

Stamos previously endorsed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2020 elections, and shared a photo on X posing alongside the former president in the White House while congratulating him on his win. According to Spectrum News, he also endorsed Harris in the most recent 2024 election.
