Speaking of his father, Fred Trump, who died in 1999 at 93, Trump told the reporter: He had one problem. At a certain age, about 86, 87, he started getting, what do they call it? he asked, pointing to his forehead and looking to Leavitt for help.
Alzheimers, Leavitt replied.
Like an Alzheimers thing, Trump said. Well, I dont have it.

(20,648 posts)I recognize the signs.
Where I live, there are residents who should be in the Memory Care section. They are older, yes! But they are a danger to themselves and others around them. Should they go outside into the extreme cold, they could die. Once the door closes, there is no getting in without a pass code or key.
When I see a resident ask me "Where am I at?", "What am I doing here?, etc., are signs that memory loss is taking place. My late husband was in Memory Care for just 11 days. Not because he was wandering about, but because he could not function without additional help. I could no longer care for him or provide him a more calming atmosphere without risking my health and well being.
Donald Trump is showing signs of dementia. Whether it is of the Alzheimer's type, that requires the assessment of one who specializes in that area. We know that will NEVER happen.
