Of all the soul-crushing things I have witnessed and experienced since Donnie Dipshit transitioned from diddling little girls, to diddling American Democracy, this took me to a dark place.
This morning, I felt the icy hand of the devil punch into my chest and try to drag my soul out of the bloody hole. This occurred as I watched Donnie Dipshit rambling in Iowa about how Renee Good's parents were; "big fans of Trump"!
Yes America! We have gone from; "I could shoot someone in the face on 5TH Avenue and I wouldn't lose a single vote", to "I could shoot your daughter in the face on Portland Avenue and I wouldn't lose a single vote".
Who amongst us wouldn't respond to a cold-blooded murder like that? But, it gets worse...oh. yes! It gets worse.
He also "opined" that maybe these "Trump fan" parent's daughter had been "radicalized".
Normally, I would say; "leave these people in peace!" "Haven't they suffered enough"? "Let them mourn". But THESE ARE NOT NORMAL TIMES, and we must NEVER allow them to be "normal times".
The MAGAts are counting on that human, moral, empathetic standard to "leave this grieving family alone". That way, the "murdered woman's parents are big Trump fans" meme can just fester out there in the hell of Facebook, Tic-Toc, Amazon Prime, Twitter, Instagram, Faux News and Hate-Radio propaganda-sphere unchallenged.
Leave it out there unchallenged, and the rotting corpse of zombie Rush Limbaugh will be on your radio telling his braindead audience that; "see, even the parents who lost their daughter still support the president".
I hate it, but this family MUST be asked if they are still "Big Fans of Trump"?
I didn't drag us to this point. Hell, Jesus himself didn't drag us to this point, where a grieving family must be asked for comment, but we are here!
My only reluctance is that I am not sure what the answer would be.
Every fiber of my soul tells me that if you asked a MAGAt parent if they were "big fans of Trump?" after his goons had murdered their child, the answer is going to be; "yes".

(31,490 posts)and sadly, I think you may be right.
There isn't much on TV these days so I started watching some of these live cop shows. They show poor people across America being arrested, and one thing I noticed is that a heck of a lot of those people don't take care of their teeth, pretty certain they have no dental insurance. Rotten teeth will cause you a lot more health issues than just rotten teeth. I have Medicare and a secondary insurance that doesn't cover dental and I must say that I have probably spent 7 thousand dollars out of pocket for dental care. I get my teeth cleaned at a periodontist, 80 dollars a pop.
What's my point? Bernie Sanders has been pushing for single payer health care all of his life but billionaires have convinced poor people it's too expensive, or too communist, or too Democratic, and they go through life accepting what they have been told, that's why the richest country on the planet's life expectancy 'is pathetic, and now it is even dropping, so yeah, people accept early deaths for Krasnov.

This was in the earliest days of my own suffering at having just weeks earlier lost my life partner, best friend and soulmate because of the apricot hellbeast's weaponized incompetence.
Alex Pretti's family's statements leave no doubt about their viewpoint. Has anyone seen any statement from Renee Good's family other than her wife? (And, if Ms. Good's family ARE of the red hat, how do they sleep at night having voted for a ticket who would just as soon have obliterated her for being gay as for her politics?)

(52,429 posts)'A beautiful light': Renee Good's family mourns her death amid push for 'transparency' after ICE shooting
Goods parents, Tim Ganger and Donna Ganger, along with her four siblings, told ABC News in a statement on Wednesday that they miss her more than words could ever express and thanked those in the community who have reached out to show their support for the family after Goods death.
"We want to thank everyone who has reached out in support of Renee and our family. The kind of unending care weve been given during this time is exactly the kind that she gave to everyone, the family said in the statement.
Remembering Good as a beautiful light who brought joy to everyone she encountered, Goods family said that the kindness they have experienced since her death is the kind of unending care that Good, whom they nicknamed Nae Nae, gave to everyone during her life.

I remember hearing this right after she died.

(17,230 posts)Donnie Dipshit said; "it's a tragedy, I heard her parents were big fans of Trump...I don't know if they still are, but they were big fans of Trump". He later added; "maybe she was radicalized".
He injected himself into this, as he ALWAYS DOES. He injected Renee Good's parents into this.
I want to know
- Are they still "Big fans of Trump"?
- Was she radicalized?
PatSeg
(52,429 posts)Meanwhile, I don't see why WE need to pull her parents into this story. Surely they've suffered enough. It is quite likely they have regrets and if not, they have paid a huge price.

(1,965 posts)It's not a horrible question for a reporter to ask them. I mean the President of the United States of America has never once apologized for Renee Good's death or offered comforting words to her parents or Minneapolis or the nation about her death.
Instead he is attacking the dead woman's reputation and life. He is sadistically causing her parents more pain even if they did vote for him.
And why is he not excoriated in the press for his "big fans of Trump" third person crap he uses all the time?
Brenda
(1,965 posts)I wonder if ABC News ever had any editorial discussion about whether or not to repeat such a BALD FACE LIE?
Or at the very least they should have used the word "allegedly" before "suffered internal bleeding"?
Instead they repeat verbatim Noem, Miller, etc.
And no journalistic questions like "Where is the killer" "Why is he not appearing in a court of law?" etc.
(My response is not at all antagonistic towards you PatSeg. Just responding to the article.)
PatSeg
(52,429 posts)Shame on ABC. That was so irresponsible. I would expect that from Fox or maybe the new CBS. This is so infuriating. Like you said, they could at least have said "allegedly".

(1,965 posts)It's easy to say well the billionaire class owns the media and therefore won't report fairly about the Chump and billionaires illegal corrupt activities and what exactly is happening. Especially when they buy the media like Bezos WP and Musk Twitter.
Yet we do read WP articles outlining the corruption. We do see CNN or ABC show videos of authoritarian brutality. Twitter/X I can't say because I never signed up.
I guess I'm just a dummy when it comes to business. Maybe the MSM acts exactly how they should as any other corporation in America. They are beholden to the investors. And we all know the investors are NOT the millions of working Americans who were forced into 401Ks but the billionaires who own 90% of stocks through their options.
So if the story they push is too outlandishly a lie to the majority of Americans polled, they'll back off or allow a Democrat or person on the street to tell their story.

(8,606 posts)It's the common GOP condition that nothing matters unless it affects them versus the core depravity of supporting trump in the first place.
What gets me about the "center" that flips back and forth is that I doubt they have any moral core that is guiding them beyond their taxes and how it effects their families' finances.
Haggard Celine
(17,728 posts)It's usually the wealthiest people who bitch the most. No one enjoys paying taxes, but the wealthy keep giving money to politicians who will lower their taxes, like they need the money. If they keep doing that, they'll eventually pay little or no taxes. We have to help out the job creators, you know.

(105,733 posts)For the Good family, rather than ex-in-laws, we have:
"In the last election, some of her family voted in for this administration, but despite that, they are united now that this killing was wrong and they all want redress and accountability, he said.
https://www.goodmorningamerica.com/news/live-updates/minneapolis-ice-shooting-live-updates-129124338/trump-comments-on-renee-goods-father-129201625?offset=16
In statements where they called Good "the beautiful light of our family," the womans four siblings, parents and their attorneys described the shooting as a result of a chance encounter after dropping her 6-year-old child off at school.
"We want to thank everyone who has reached out in support of Renee and our family. The kind of unending care weve been given during this time is exactly the kind that she gave to everyone," Goods family said in a letter shared with USA TODAY. "Nae was the beautiful light of our family and brought joy to anyone she met. She was relentlessly hopeful and optimistic which was contagious. We all already miss her more than words could ever express."
...
"She was our best friend with a seemingly infinite capacity for love. Nae-Nae gave everything she had to take care of her friends and family, and indeed people she never met," Goods family said. "She was our protector, our shoulder to cry on, and our scintillating source of joy."
The new details come as the family announced a Chicago-based law firm is launching an investigation into Goods death. The investigation comes as Justice Department officials say there is "no basis" for an investigation in the case. The firm, Romanucci & Blandin, is the same group that represented the family of George Floyd after he was murdered by a police officer in Minneapolis in 2020.

It seems that Trump picked up this "father was a big Trump fan" from a question to him by a reporter, so the chain of possible mistakes, exaggerations or lies there is long. I don't think they need further pressuring on it.
