The Daily Beast wrote yesterday (27 Jan 2026) that Ghislaine Maxwell "detonated a political time bomb from behind bars," in her habeas petition, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Plaintiff v. GHISLAINE MAXWELL, Defendant, filed 17 December 2025.
Daily Beast:
"Maxwell dropped a bombshell claim that four potential "co-conspirators" and "25 men" scored "secret settlements" tied to Epstein's abuse - without facing any indictment."
"Four co-conspirators: and "25 Men." That surprised me. So I found and read much of her habeas petition. First thought: "She wrote this herself? Pro se? Not her lawyer? (She has one. Who is also a friend of Deputy U.S. Attorney, Todd Blanche.) If she did write this, she wrote a very impressive petition.
Some snips:

A defendant moving to dismiss for selective prosecution bears the heavy burden of establishing at least prima facie 1) that, while others similarly situated have not generally been proceeded against because of conduct of the type forming the basis of the charge against him, he has been signaled out for prosecution and 2) that the governments discriminatory selection of him for prosecution has been invidious or in bad faith. The first of these "requires a showing that similarly situated individuals of a different classification were not prosecuted'. None of the 4 named co-conspirators or the 25 men with secret settlements were indicted.
That's her, "But...but...but whadabout them?" argument.
Page 1
There were 4 employee co-conspirators that were not indicted but named in Non-Prosecution Agreement EXHIBIT 81 and referenced in the Indictment of Jeffrey Epstein. The Petitioner was not. New evidence reveals that there were 25 men with which the plaintiff lawyers reached secret settlements - that could equally be considered as co-conspirators. None of these men have been prosecuted and none has been revealed to Petitioner; she would have called them as witnesses had she known.

The intervening years were used to exploit the civil litigation process to gain a tactical advantage using plaintiffs' lawyers in the front and behind the scenes to defame Petitioner in pleadings working the media promoting "fake news" falsely portraying her and Epstein as one person whilst working to invalidate/overturn the Non-Prosecution Agreement using the Crime Victims' Rights Act as litigated in POINTS THREE and FOUR set forth above. Bradley Edwards Esq. acted as the proxy for Assistant United States Attorney (Ann Marie) Villafana both conspiring to overturn the Non-Prosecution Agreement thru the Crime Victims' Rights Act litigation. Obtaining police records and victims' names from law enforcement and USAO Florida Assistant United States Attorney, Villafana sharing information with potential claimants, using the information for "secret" settlements with men with deep pockets in exchange for keeping the identity of those men out of the public arena to benefit the personal pocketbooks of plaintiff's lawyers. In 2008 Assistant United States Attorney Villafana directed Bradley Edwards Esq. to file the Crime Victims' Rights Act case, its sole aim to overturn the Non-Prosecution Agreement. The Crime Victims' Rights Act became a tactical tool that allowed the Government to keep investigating Epstein and the co-conspirators through civil litigation and discovery. The ongoing litigation allowed continued press collusion to push a false narrative through friendly journalists like Sharon Churcher and JKB turning Petitioner into an object of 'rage bait.'
Page 6
11. (Leslie) Wexner was accused of participating and witnessing abuse, no settlement with Wexner was revealed EXHIBIT 21. Press reports reveal other potential men including Leon Black who agreed to pay $62.5 Million to Settle Epstein Related Claims and the others that the Plaintiff's Lawyers negotiated (per the press reports). Similarly, no discovery on Leon Black was provided to Petitioner. The New York Times 7/21/2023 (EXHIBIT 32).
She claims there were 29 others the DoJ could have prosecuted and did not. Of those 29 she only mentioned Wexner and Black. No others.
What's missing from the petition? "I didn't do it."
Notes. Mentioned in her petition:
- Bradley Edwards Esq., a Florida attorney who represents over 50 victims of sexual abuse by Jeffrey Epstein.
- Sharon Churcher is a former London Daily Mail journalist. Chrucher interviewed Virginia Giuffre who accused Prince Andrew of abusing her as a teenager in 2011.
- "JKB" refers to Miami Herald journalist Julie K. Brown; credited with re-opening the Jeffrey Epstein sexual abuse case with a series of reports starting in November 2018.

To say basically, Yes, but ... and not address the specific allegation against YOU.
In this case, You of course refers to Ghislaine Maxwell.
Supposed to state in the petition that you didn't do it and provide proof.
